I was looking for something that will soften my hair texture that isn’t a glossing polish or leave-in treatment that I already have used. After some search at my local beauty shop, I had some experience with ION products before and wanted to try one of the products, ION Antifrizz Lusterizing Cream. After shampooing, I used this product in adjunct to my faithful leave-in treatment, Nature’s Therapy Moisturizing Creme, which I only put on the ends. With ION Lusterizing Cream, I just used it all over my hair with hopes that my hair will feel noticeably softer. After my hair has dried completely, I was brushing my fingers through it and to my amazement my hair felt much softer than normal and didn’t feel really frizzy. Then I added a bit of glossing polish for a shine. Is this a good purchase? I would say so and I’ve been using it ever since.

As mentioned in previous posts, it’s extremely important to keep your hair in good sparkling shape regardless how damaged your hair as a result of coloring, straightening, blow drying and/or hot styling aids. There are many products that do the job and achieve a wonderful end result. If you’re on a budget, then it’s worth to check out Ion Leave-in Conditioner in brand new packaging design. With this product, it has lightweight moisture that detangles even most frizzy or super dry hair. The tip to use this product is after you shampoo and moisturize your hair in the shower, make sure you towel dry your hair first prior to spraying liberally on the ends and underneath your hair completely. You can use this in conjunction with other treatments like leave-in moisture, spray gel, glossing polish or heat protection spray. I have been using this product to achieve less frizzy and brittle look that dyed and highlighted hair brings. It makes my hair look “healthier” because it looks less like straw hair that most people get from bleaching or lightening process. No one wants straw looking hair, do we? Give this product a try. Ion is one of respected hair brands especially for those who are on a budget who can’t afford high end salon products.

Basically, Hair Rescue Severe Breakage Kit works great for those whose hair is “falling out” or experiencing brittle, thinning hair that naturally comes with bleaching and over-processing. It doesn’t mean you should give up coloring your hair but it means playing smart. Your hair doesn’t not fall out from the roots as some people think but rather breaking off when your hair cuticle is over-processed with bleach and dye so it becomes weaker and thinner over time. How to prevent breaking off when you re-bleach or dye your hair? By strengthening your hair cuticle with a product that specifically adds back protein and moisture in your hair. This product is supposed to:
- Stops breakage by 76% and strengthens hair 4X stronger
- Replenishes hair by infusing moisture and glossy shine in your hair
- Works with weak, over-processed or damaged hair
- Won’t affect current color
Here are the general directions to use this product according to this kit:
Step 1 – Restructuring Treatment: Apply to clean, towel-dried hair. Do NOT RINSE OFF.
Step 2 – Strengthening Activator: Apply on top of Step 1. Leave on 2 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Step 3 – Leave-In Repairing Treatment: Apply dime or quarter-sized (depending on the length of your hair) amount to towel-dried hair. Do not rinse. Use daily until empty.
You should start seeing instant results of your brittle and over-processed hair being softer and stronger within few days. Keep doing this treatment each time you color, re-bleach or highlight your hair. For in between sessions and following the treatment, use a moisturizing conditioner so your hair looks fresh and not affect the color because this kit can be quite drying.
